365 Cards - #153 - Tag, You're It

Today over at 365 Cards for the second last day of Reader Appreciation Week the challenge was set down as Tag, You're It and you had to include a journalling ticket on your card somewhere. You could use an actual ticket, a rub-on, a stamp or a sticker. I'm sorry I didn't get my card on last night but I went to bed at 8.30pm and did not get up again until 8.30am this morning I think I had some kind of 24 hour virus, with high temp, headache etc. I got up okay this morning except for the constant headache which is still with me tonight but other than that I have no clues as to what it was. . .it is a mystery!! Now back to cards, I digressed for just a bit sorry ladies! My pic tonight is a little blurry and I don't know why. Do not adjust your screens folks we will return to normal viewing directly!
I used one of my coveted Tim Holtz Journalling Tags that I won on his blog (you all know what I am talking about lol) and I have been keeping them safe for a couple of months now but I cracked them open for this challenge. I also used a new set of Tim Holtz rubber stamps which I won on EBay a couple of weeks ago which came last Friday. They are my new favs. . .geez I am so predictable!

This second pic is of my beautiful little grandaughter Sophie eating her dinner tonight which was stir-fry oriental noodles and she loved them as you can see lol. She wants to feed herself now at 14 months but got a little carried away and tipped the bowl into her lap and then proceeded to put the bowl on her head and as you can see she is thoroughly enjoying herself lol she was having a ball, so Nan decided to get the camera! She is so beautiful.

Okay that is it for me tonight.

365 Cards - #151 - A Certain Sentiment

Today over at 365 Cards it was Audrey's turn for Reader Appreciation Week. The challenge set out was to have the sentiment "You Can Do It" on your card. So, I have to explain what my card means. . .I have always wanted to dance but have always been to self conscious and lacked the self confidence to do so. This card will be here to remind me to book some classes when I have my double knee replacements done. I watch all the dances shows on TV and love them and would love to be able to do it myself well maybe one day I will have the chance to do it. The image is a clipart image I found on the internet and the sentiment is of course computer generated. I hope you enjoy my card today.

365 Cards - #150 - An Eye For An I

Homophones that is what the challenge is for Reader Appreciation week over at 365 Cards today. Homophones are words that sound like another but have a different meaning eg YOU and EWE. Okay that being said I wanted mine to be clever hahahaha I am rolling on the floor about now because I continuously crack myself up! Mum and I came up with this one below and once we said it I thought Hmmm that is the one Mum, but Mum couldn't sleep until she was absolutely certain, 100 per cent that there was indeed a place called Rhodes. I googled it and yes there is in England and Greece. Her words then were now I can rest Shell. You see she has her bed set up right behind me as I type so I am working in here while she is sleeping. . . now, and it does not bother her one bit. Anyway I hope you like my card today everyone.

Short and Sweet that is me today because it is a bit late and I do need my beauty sleep.

365 Cards - #149 - Try A Technique: Sponging

Well it is the second day of Reader Appreciation Week over on 365 Cards and the challenge today was to apply sponging on your card. I love sponging so it was not a chore to do although I said to Mum that I really didn't like the outcome but there you go, you can't like everything you do can you? The background paper I chose has butterflies all over it but only faintly and once I put my image over it you can hardly tell they are there. It is such lovely paper too. My daughter Courtney bought a pad of all different green papers in 8x8 a couple of years ago and she pulled it out a few weeks ago and said here Mum help yourself I don't use it very often. . .so I did lol! I sponged all th edges of my card as well as the three butterflies and around them as well.

Okay that is me tonight.

365 Cards - #148 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Today over at 365 Cards it is the start of Reader Appreciation Week and also Super Sketchy Sunday. . . .YAY!! The sketch for today is the one below which I didn't find too bad actually. I liked the layout and got straight into it and I would have finished earlier if I could have found my battery charger. I have spent nearly two hours looking for it and still cannot find it. . .don't ya hate that? I hope everyone that was affected by that stupid Fetish thing has sorted their issues out. It took me ages to block the silly thing on my followers list but my daughter finally got it for me.

This is my take on the sketch so I hope you like it. I cannot wait to see what cards some of our chosen readers design this week. Okay enough chatter. Until tomorrow.

365 Cards - #147 - Scraplift Saturday

Well today over at 365 Cards the challenge is Scraplift Saturday and the specific challenge: Select a card from one of the design team members to scraplift. It does not have to be a card that was done for a 365 Cards challenge, but you need to be sure to provide the card or link the the card that you are scraplifting. I loved this card that Gloria did so I decided to scraplift her card.

Now this is my interpretation of Gloria's card. I didn't have any tulle so I went with black and white ribbon instead and the silk flowers on Gloria's card well again I didn't have those so I made my own as well as the leaves.
I am so looking forward to seeing what others have chosen to scraplift and from which designer. That is it for me today/tonight. I have all the family coming over tomorrow for a Roast dinner so I need to get myself organised.

365 Cards - #146 - Mirror Me

Today over at 365 Cards the challenge was to create a symmetrical card and the only thing that does not have to be symmetrical is the sentiment. . . .crap I only put one ribbon on my card and do you know what I am not re-doing it lol because I am tired and in pain and I love it the way it is hehehehe The stamp is from my new Tim Holtz set which I won on EBay. Isn't it beautiful?. . *deep sigh* I don't think I have said how much I love the Timster lately but I do hehehe. The papers are from Daisy Bucket and I only got them today and had to use them straight away.

Okay that is it for me tonight, I've got a nice comfy bed just callin' my name. . .it's saying "Shell come on come and lay down" God I crack me up sometimes lol.

365 Cards - #145 - Ad Inspired

It was a hard one over at 365 Cards today!! The challenge was Ad Inspired and the ad is the pic below which is a cushion with colours of orange, white, green and the butterflies. Man oh man was I struggling with it and Pam said she was going to give us a break today from the hard ones Haha I laugh at such craziness! I really had problems with this challenge and nearly decided to give it away but I perservered with it but I don't like the finished card but I was not going to re-do it.
I used an old set of SU designer paper for the orange and the green piece of patterned paper I only purchased today lol as was the rub-ons as well. There are butterflies on the card but they are a part of the pattern on the orange designer paper hehe. Okay so I procrastinate what can I say. . .

Now no nasty comments about my card okay because I know it's bad lol. That is it for me.

365 Cards - #144 - You Raise Me Up

Today over at 365 Cards the challenge is 'You Raise Me Up' and we have to try an incorporate two ways to add dimension to your card. So I decided to pop the layers up off the card base using rather high pop dots and then I added the popped star as an embellishment. I also added the pearls to the image I used which adds extra dimension as well. Sorry the image is a little hazy and I have no clues as to why it is like that!

I had started making this card nearly two weeks ago but had only done the card base with the Kraft trim on the side and that was it and I didn't want to waste it so today was the day that it got completed lol. Orange is a fav colour of mine. When I used to have my business as a qualified Aromatherapist/massage practitioner my clinic colours were purple and orange and it always looked fantastic together. (Just off topic a bit there folks, we will return to normal viewing directly). Okay that is it for me today/tonight for us Australians in the Southern Hemisphere.

365 Cards - #143 Keep It To Yourself: Sympathy

Today over at 365 Cards the challenge is to Keep it to yourself: Sympathy. This Keep it to Yourself challenge is to create a Sympathy card. It's difficult to convey the message without putting the sentiment on the front, but that's what I'm asking you to do.HOWEVER, the message CAN be on the inside. The idea is to create an appropriate card for this type of situation, which is often difficult anyway. So this is what I have to offer today for this challenge. The tree is from a Sympathy set from Stampin' Up! and I purchased it mainly because of this tree as I think it is beautiful. On the inside I stamped one of the sentiments for that stamp set.

This is the inside of the card. . . short and concise. I used my SU Eyelet Border punch to punch the corners of my insert. That is it for me tonight.

365 Cards - #142 Movie Monday

It is Movie Monday over at 365 Cards today and the challenge is a fav of mine because the series of books and movie are an absolute fav. . . The Twilight Series. I was so excited when I saw what the challenge was today and knew exactly what I was going to do. Now the heart on my card represents the beating or in Edwards case the non beating of a heart lol. The scalloped piece missing from the bottom is of course a bite lol hence the sentiment 'Bite Me'. I smudged around the white cardstock but outlined the bite mark in red. . .you know the story of a vampire etc etc etc. What an awesome series of books. I could not put them down.

Okay because it is so late that is all from me tonight.

It is that time of week over at 365 Cards and we all know what that time is. . .it's Super Sketchy Sunday!! The challenge today was a sketch which is the one below. I wanted to include papers on my card that I have been hoarding and not using lol and we can all relate to that can't we Gloria lol. I have had these papers for over 12 months now sad but true and my own challenge to myself was to use something that I would not normally use and this is it. So there you have it girls.

That is all from me tonight as it is 1am here and I should be asleep.

365 Cards - #140 Paint It! & Card Patterns #24

Over on 365 Cards today the challenge is to Paint It! Paint part of your card. Well believe it or not I painted the chipboard flower with Kaisercraft KaiserColour craft acrylic in Antique White and then I used Distress Inks over it lol. But the chipboard kept soaking up the paint!! I had to put about six coats on it.
This card was designed using Card Patterns sketch for this week which is below.

365 Cards - #139 - Try A Technique

Edited at 9.17pm 17.07.2009: I am such a loon sometimes!!! Honestly I thought Pam had said paper piecing! Not piercing lol!! It wasn't until I was checking out Sue's One4Joy blog that I realised my mistake. So I am gonna fly with this card now as I am too tired to have another crack at it tonight. My apologies Pam and the rest of the challengers and design team for making my error.

Today over at 365 Cards the challenge was to use Paper Piecing to create a pattern on your card. I had to make a birthday card for a 2 year old so the perfect stamp for her was chosen by her Aunt and I. This stamp is great for paper piecing the ears and heart. It is a stamp from my ancient stash and has not been used for about 15 years or so lol. This has to be short and sweet as my Mum comes tomorrow and I still need more hours today lol. It is going by too fast and before I know she will be here and I haven't done all the cleaning etc. . .bugger, bugger and bugger!!!! Phew I just this minute spoke to Mum on the phone and she is not arriving until 3.05pm tomorrow so I don't have to panic now lol.

This second shot is a close up of the heart paper piecing so excuse my hand because the ribbon would not stay out of the way lol and the only way I could make it do as it was told was to hold the jolly thing out of the road. Now that is it for tonight girls.

365 Cards - #138 - She Said, And I Quote. . .

Today over at 365 Cards the challenge was She said, and I quote. . . Blah, Blah, Blah or something like that. And that's the challenge to include a quote on your card. And be sure to give proper credit! Well I did give proper credit because it was included in the stamp lol. The image is another stamp from my new Unity stamp set which I coloured with my Derwent watercolours. I also used my new Quikcuts Flourish die (won it on Ebay for a song) that I have had for about 6 weeks but not used until now. I love it!!!! I also used that lovely Basic Grey designer paper again once these two sheets have gone I will have to go get some more.
I have got my Mum coming to stay this Saturday for two weeks and she will be staying in my stamping room . . . I don't know how I am going to cope lol as I stay up sometimes until 2-3am and Mum is not going to like that one little bit so I will have to curtail my late night habits for a couple of weeks and stick to daytime activities only . . .how boring is that going to be lol.

Well that is me finished for the night. I hope tomorrow has more hours in it because I have heaps to do before my Mum comes.

365 Cards - #137 - I'm In A Bind

Today on 365 Cards we were asked to "bind two pieces of something (cardstock, plastic etc) to create a card. For Example, use a hole punch and then attach with metal rings or yarn." Again I knew what I wanted to achieve and then sat down at my workstation and got to it lol. Did I tell you that I am lovin' being back online and participating again on 365 Cards? Well just in case I didn't say it before *wink* okay? We good? Again I used one of my brand new Basic Grey papers for this card and this (because it is a paisley pattern) is one of my favs, so much so that I bought three sheets of this beauty lol. I also used my brand new Unity stamp set that I won from Sherry's blog candy a few weeks ago. I was so surprised because I never win anything. This is a very cute stamp set I think it was Mays kit of the month at Unity. Okay that's all I am going to waffle on with tonight.

365 Cards - #136 What Is Black, White & Red All Over?

Another day another challenge!!! Over at 365 Cards today the challenge was to only have black, white and red on your card. I love this colour combo and I only purchased some new Kaisercraft black and white Damask paper yesterday so I was one happy chick. I found this red pom pom ribbon in one of my cartons which was meant for cushions years ago but now it is meant for cards lol. Now when you have Damask paper then what stamp would one use but. . . YES my Damask stamp from the SU stamp set Friends 24-7, my all time fav stamp set. That is it for me tonight.

365 Cards - #135 On The Outside Looking In ***FINALLY***!!!!!!

WELL HELLO EVERYONE!!
I am FINALLY back online. . . . . YIIIIIIIHIIIIIII!!!! First I would like to thank you all for your concern for me whilst I was off the air. All I want to say is I HATE TELSTRA!!! There now that felt good. For those of you overseas Telstra is the major telephone/Internet provider in Australia and they hold most of the business here which sucks big time and I am no longer with them. For those of you who email me or are trying to and having it boomeranged back to you please try bohemiangypsy@dodo.com.au and that will get to me from now on as that is my new email addy.
I cannot tell you all how much I have missed you because there are no words to describe the loneliness and boredom and frustration I have felt for the past 13 days or so. And the emails I have received and also comments from caring women, all of you that have been concerned about my health and that of my Mum . . . . BIG HUGS!!! We are both fine although I would love to have different knees hehehe.
Ok enough waffling for now but gee it is good to be back. Today over at my fav place to hang 365 Cards the challenge was to create a window on our card using a see-through material. Well I did use a see-through material but then I applied Ranger alcohol inks to it for some colour and depth, which turned out fabuloso lol. Then I used the actual cut out piece to put the sentiment on but there is one inside as well with a dragonfly. If you squint your eyes you can see it through my window LMAO. Just visualising everyone squinting at their screens hehehehe. The text stamp is my new one that I purchased in Lismore when I was looking after Mum and it my new fav stamp as it has so many uses and is a Rachel Greig Photography stamp. My alpha lettering on the front are from Bella which I bought today as is the beautiful Basic Grey paper on the front. I was trying to make this a short post as I have lots of orders to fill over the next two days lol.

I really like this card it has a sort of vintage feel but the chipboard lettering on the front gives it a modern twist. Now that is enough for everyone to read from me in one day.
So in the meantime. . . .

Today over at 365 Cards the challenge was to work in the black spaces only but not the white space Nothing in the white space at all. My card is simple today but you all know supplies are limited but this will be the last day as I will be going home tomorrow and my card for tomorrow will be done at home. . .yay!!
