365 Cards - #303 - With A Flourish

Well Bloggers here I am finally doing a card after such a long while. I have been so busy doing other things like getting christmas orders completed and sent out and making a mini album for my first mini album swap. . . .which was so exciting to be involved in and I received mine but cannot post about it or post pics of mine until the recipient receives hers in the mail lol. I hope you all had a wonderful christmas as did I. I got the best pressie of all time which was a video camera from my man and my youngest daughter so that I can start making you tube videos on tutorials etc. I have to say though I have done a couple of practise runs and I gotta say I sound like a bit of a dick (sorry but the only word that fitted lol) so I deleted them but will keep practising until I am happy with the outcome and then I will upload them.

Today over at 365 Cards Pam has asked that our card include 3 flourishes and they can be stamped, rub-ons, patterned paper etc. Two weeks ago I received in the mail from a lovely chick down in Adelaide a bag of Top Note die cuts from SU which is not available yet in Australia but will be next year. . . .yay!!!! Mel bought hers on E Bay and posted one of each cardstock colour that SU has to me. Is that not the nicest thing girls? Mel also sent me so many different brads that I thought it was christmas (which it was) and then the very next week she sent me another parcel which was so full to the brim of all sorts of scrapbooking goodies and I was totally blown away by her generosity. . . . thanks so much Mel. So I had to make use of them and use one in my first card for a while today. I have two stamped flourishes and two die cut flourishes on my card so I have four in total just to cover myself hehehe.

Okay girls that is all from me today. I am now going to read a bit of my christmas book that I got from my daughter and son in law, which is Matthew Reilly's newest book which I have been waiting for, for two years. It is non stoppable action packed reading and I cannot put it down.

Another Order Completed. . . .

Another christmas order ready to go out. The request was to make it a little vintage and I think I achieved that. . . .well I'm hoping I have lol. This goes into the post tomorrow. Now all I have left is my Mums christmas presents to make and then orders are completed. I sent off a parcel to the US this afternoon to a wonderful friend so I hope she enjoys all the goodies inside when it arrives.

Okay I am off to bed now as I have a day in the shop tomorrow doing several massages and also have an aromatherapy consultation for an aging Mum who has arthritis and also wants her hands massaged. I am looking forward to this as I know my own Mum gets so much relief from having her arthritic hands massaged by me. So if I can help this woman alleviate the pain in some small way it will make my day that much better. Whatever you do do it well.

Simple Doodles Guest Designer

For the month of December I was chosen to be a guest designer over on Simple Doodles. Due to family crisis I have been unable to fulfil my obligations up until now and my sincere apologies go to Trish the owner of Simple Doodles. I will try and post regularly from now until the end of the month. Trish has been very generous in providing me with lots of digital images and Santa below is a new image for her. So I decided to play with him as it is the season lol. The red fibre on the side of the card I bought at Spotlight and it has a glittery type look to it which is so groovy for this time of year so I bought a green one as well. Both will be nice on my mini album swap I am doing with a girl in the US. I also ran the edges of the Riding Hood Red cardstock the Versamark pad and then put gold embossing powder on the edges. I have always liked this uneven look and was doing it to my cards about 18 years ago lol. Everything comes back sooner or later do you agree? When I showed a beautiful friend of mine the card for her to critique she said to add in white gel pen the words Ho Ho Ho which I did and I normally have nice handwriting but do you think I could do it nicely for the card?. . . . . NO OF COURSE NOT LOL!! Needless to say I was stuck with it. The designer paper is from SU Ski Slope paper pack which I just love.

Okay I think that is it people. Don't forget to leave comments as I just want to know that there are people out there who visit my blog even though I have been tardy of late, I will try to make up for it.

Hi everyone. I guess you have all been wondering where I have been lately. There has been so much happening in my life lately with sickness in the family to trying to get christmas orders out. I have not had time to make any cards. . .oh well I tell a little lie there today I made one for Simple Doodles but I cannot show you yet so you will have to wait for that little gem to get approved first. My first pic is of a grocery pad which has magnets on the back so you can put it on your fridge. I forgot to add some ribbon to the side as a pen holder on this particular one which is my own creation, after some modification of Angie's over at Chic n Scratch's blog.

The second one is a post it note organiser and this pic is of the inside of the organiser with a pouch on the left side for receipts etc or stamps.

This is the front cover of the post it note organiser and I made this one a little vintage as it is an order.

These next three cards were a workshop I just did recently and I had so much fun completing them. The flourish is amazing and can be used on all sorts of projects.

This is my second creation in the workshop. . .

And this is the last one I made from the workshop. Aren't they just the prettiest cards, I really love how they turned out.

Sorry that I have been absent from my blog for so long everyone but it could not be helped. I hope to get back into the swing of things in the next week or so. So please keep coming back as you may be surprised what you see next time around *grins*.

Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge

I thought this challenge looked great today so I decided to sit at my workstation and put a card together. The sketch is from Our Creative Corner and what the design team created inspired me to put my card together.

This is my interpretation of the above sketch. I hope you enjoy it. I had a lot of fun making it which is a good thing as I have been rather out of sorts with my cardmaking lately so I need to get back in the saddle and get cracking on some creativity.

All supplies used are Stampin' Up! except the gold cord which is from my stash.

SASSC #42

I have not done a card for over a week so a dear friend gave me a nudge and told me to get into it and so after much procrastinating I chose to complete this challenge today as I loved the very simplicity of it. This challenge can be found over at The Fresh Batch if you are also wanting to take part and I urge you all to as it is such fun to make cards regularly.

Here is my take on the above sketch. If you look closely at the swiss dot embossing on the red cardstock you will see double imagery lol that is because I did the embossing on the wrong side and then decided to try it out on the other side forgetting to line up the dots and this was the outcome. I liked it so I kept it lol

Okay laters people. I have to get dressed and out of here for the newspaper to come and take our pics down at the shop.

Unscripted Sketches - #32

The sketch to follow over at Unscripted Sketches today is below. . .

It seemed like a great sketch to do so me and a good friend decided to get together and do the challenge together. . . .waving madly!!

This is my interpretation of the above sketch. I am very much into the earthy colours lately and cannot seem to shake them but that's fine with me. Once upon a time you could not get me to even own anything brown but now there is a lot of it all through my home lol. Okay that is it for now.

Pink Persimmon challenge

This is the first time I have done the Pink Persimmon challenge. I have had their blog on my fav list since Kristie won a spot on their design team. I fell in love with their banner set of stamps when they did a demo on The Girlfriends blog a while ago. Fingers crossed that I am in with a chance to win the set for this challenge *grins*. It is such a great stamp set. Okay the sketch to follow is the one below. . .

This is my interpretation of the above sketch. This is the first time I have used this stamp set. I have had it for a while now but only just tonight inked it up. . . .shame on me!!! All supplies for this card were SU supplies. I have had my buttons for quite a while too but this is my first time I have used them too. I told you I like to covet my things. . .what can I say?? ROTFLMBO

Okay it is getting late and time for me to hit the cot.

Basic Grey Challenge - #8 and Simple Doodles Challenge

My first card tonight is for the Simple Doodles challenge and the challenge was to Make It Pop Out. I made the sentiment pop out and the whole image pop as well as I put them both on dimensionals. I used the freebie digi image from Simple Doodles although it was not the current one, sorry Rose but I wanted to use my Dazzling Diamonds from SU as well as my new red polka dot ribbon which I only got yesterday so snowballs it was.

The second card today is for the Basic Grey challenge blog and their challenge today was to use Glitz and Bling and I used both!! I used my new SU Super Nova olive glitter and my Rhinestones in the wings of the butterfly. I wasn't even going to post this card as I didn't really like it but my hubby made me as well as my daughter Courtney so here it is.

Okay I am off to play with mini albums. Tune in tomorrow as I have a special deal for you if you are the right person and this is my deal nothing to do with SU head office or anything so stay tuned.

More Progress on Mini Album

I hope this is not too long for you all but there is a large amount of pics and I swear I am going to have to do something about this and save up for a video camera so I can just do a U Tube video for you all to see. I asked my son-in-law last night if I could use a webcam to do U Tube videos and he said that I could so I might have to get one of those first because they are cheaper than a video camera. Crawl before you walk as the saying goes lol.
Okay on with the pics I am not going to describe every pic otherwise I would be here all day long hehe. But on some of them I just want to explain the details. This first pic is a photo mat and the bottom part with the black design is flocked and it is lovely to the touch.

In this second pic I took a close up of the ribbon which is cotton broderie and it was white but I Glimmer Misted it in Olive Vine and I love how it turned out.

This is a transparency over the top of journalling tags

First tag embossed in black embossing powder, the other two have been Perfect Pearled which I also love.

This is a chipboard tag and it is from the same piece as the first photo mat but I managed to just use the flocked piece and man does it look great in real life. The other side is copper painted and crackled.

This is Glimmer Misted in the Olive Vine as well but using the Glimmer Screens - wrought iron gates. . . .love it!!!
This pic has a chipboard frame which is only adhered on one side so a pic can just slide in and I have used copper paint and crackled over the top again.

These next few pics are of a business sized envelope that I wanted to add to the paper bag album and I have folded it in half and cut the ends off and then covered with designer papers etc

Okay that is it for now. I am almost finished my album so when it is done I will post the final pics of it and then start on another one lol.

This Post is For Janice

This is a beautiful crocheted blanket that Janice sent to me for my little grandaughter and I should have done this post ages ago so my sincere apologies Janice for not posting these pics sooner my friend.
I have to tell you that when I opened the parcel from Janice Sophie almost pounced on the box as the colour spilled out. I said to her "Oh look Soph darling this is for you" Well that was enough for my little grandaughter to run off with it lol. The first pic is of her twirling it around so my apologies for the blurriness of the pic lol but she was hard to capture hehehe

This next one is of her sharing her new blanket with her Poppa but he only got a leg covered and that was all she was prepared to share lol. She is eating her banana at the same time which made the twirling even more impressive hehehe.

A little blurry again but she kept jumping around so this was the best of a blurry lot rotflmbo
This pic is of her pretending to go to sleep but let me tell you it did not last long I wish I had captured the little grin she gave me just after I took this pic it was absolutely priceless.

This last pic is the aftermath of the little grin and she was being a little cheeky but cute if you get my drift (says a proud grandmother).

So Janice from little Soph and her Nannie thankyou so much and the blanket stays at my house for her sleepovers as she loves going to bed with it in her cot, and when I tell her it is nigh nigh time she runs in and grabs the blanket of the end of her bed and waits for me to lift her in. She then gives it to me to cover her up and quite contentedly goes to sleep with a little wave to her nannie. Thankyou sincerely Janice for the most beautiful gift. I have another post to do about the progress of my mini album and I am warning you now that it will be long as there a quite a few pics.

FTL - #67

This week over at Clean and Simple the sketch to follow was set out below. . .

This is my interpretation of the sketch above

Nice and clean and simple. I love that sometimes things come together so quickly you are finished before you really get started lol. So it is late and I am so tired and I am off to bed.

Project Tuesday - Pocket Card

This week over at Project Tuesday the challenge is to make a pocket card and there was a link to a tutorial from Beate over st Splitcoast Stampers. I gotta say it was an easy card to do but so effective when complete. . . .I love it!!!

The first pic is of the insert as well as the pocket behind it.

This is what it looks like with the insert inside the pocket. I love the way this turned out. I am off to bed now as it is late in my neck of the woods.
